How to calculate your pension today - a table for calculating it yourself

How to find out the size of your future pension? Many citizens have heard about the point system for calculating pensions, but do not understand how to apply it?

As the heroine of the film “Old Robbers” said, a pension should be given from 18 to 35 years, when it’s a sin to work - you only need to deal with your personal life. But this wish remained only in the film. And in the harsh reality, the majority of citizens have increased their retirement period.

But the increase in the retirement age will be gradual and some lucky people will still have time to cross the new retirement threshold.

So, the transition period for raising the age will last as long as 10 years - from 2021 to 2028.

To soften the pension blow, a special benefit is provided - a pension can be assigned six months earlier than the new pension period. This applies to those citizens who were supposed to retire in 2021 and 2021. by “old” age, i.e. 55 years for women and 60 years for men.

The pension for them will be assigned in a new way:

  • in 2021: women aged 55.5 years and men aged 60.5 years;
  • in 2021: women aged 56.5 years and men aged 61.5 years;
  • in 2021: women aged 57 and men aged 62;
  • in 2022: women aged 57.5 years and men aged 62.5 years, etc.

Important!

And, from 2028 onwards, women will retire at 60, men at 65.

Of course, in our country there are many benefit categories that can retire much earlier. Workers in “harmful” industries, “Chernobyl victims” and citizens of certain professions, as well as for social reasons, for example, mothers of many children, can retire early.

Despite the fact that retirement becomes an unattainable dream, people are interested in looking into the future and finding out the size of their pension.

A few words about where the money comes from to pay pensions to citizens.

Legislative regulation

Pension insurance is a state, compulsory program (OPS), which allows citizens who have reached a certain age to receive a fixed amount every month, which directly depends on the points accumulated during official work.
Every citizen from birth enters into the compulsory pension insurance system. Newborns are entered into the database after registration with the civil registry office. They receive SNILS - their individual insurance number. Previously, an identifier was issued only upon the start of work, but now upon birth.

The payment of pensions as state social security is regulated by regulations. This is a set of federal laws and government regulations that:

  • every citizen is obliged to join the OPS system;
  • confirm the insurance period in points;
  • uniform rules have been established for how pensions are calculated;
  • there is a savings program;
  • invest money from the state budget in this;
  • The work of non-state funds is regulated.

The main legislative and regulatory framework does not apply to all citizens - for civil servants, as well as military personnel, astronauts and pilots, there is a separate Federal Law No. 166, according to which accruals are made.

What is taken into account when calculating

The amount of pension payments is calculated based on the following factors:

  1. The amount of official income. This information is provided by the employer. You won't be able to get them online through any website. Unless the employee receives information about his salary in the form of an extract, for example, by email.
  2. Length of work experience. This information is taken from the work record book.
  3. Number and duration of insurance periods. This is the time when a citizen did not work for good reasons.
  4. The age when a citizen retires and ends his working career.

Based on this information, points and pension coefficients are awarded, which are then used to calculate pension payments to Russians.

Types of pensions

There are three types of labor accruals. They are offered to the citizen as compensation for lost wages due to loss of ability to work. Disability occurs in several cases.

  • Old age. It is financially provided by the state when a citizen has at least five years of work experience and has already reached the age of 60 for women or 65 for men. However, these age limits are not final for all categories; for example, the value is reduced for the military, pilots, doctors, teachers, as well as for mothers of large families and people working in the Far North.
  • Disability. Such a pension is considered mandatory for all disabled people with first, second or third degree. It doesn’t matter whether a person is limited in his work activity or not.
  • Loss of a breadwinner. All persons dependent on a deceased citizen who was officially employed have the right to receive this payment. Namely: children up to adulthood or until the end of full-time studies at a university (up to 23 years old), disabled people, pensioners (parents or spouses of retirement age), as well as one adult who does not work and is caring for the children of the deceased - up to 14 years old, usually this is a wife or husband, mother, father.

In addition, there is a state pension. It is assigned to civil servants and military personnel - both due to old age and unforeseen situations, for example, in the event of an accident at work, an emergency. There are five categories of this pension provision:

  • if the pensioner suffered as a result of man-made disasters;
  • for length of service - especially relevant for military personnel, police officers and other people serving under contract;
  • for disability - WWII participants, military personnel, cosmonauts, pilots, if the disability occurred during the period of service or three months after it;
  • for the loss of a breadwinner - conditions similar to a labor pension, but for the category of citizens in the civil service;
  • social – the persons listed above, as well as those who are classified as small peoples of the North (their total number does not exceed 50 thousand people).

If a person has the right to several accruals at the same time, he is recommended to calculate his pension independently and choose one of the possible benefits. However, there are categories of people who receive two types of savings at once, these are:

  • those with disabilities due to being in places of hostilities, as well as their parents and widows;
  • WWII veterans;
  • people who took part in the siege of Leningrad and have the appropriate certificate;
  • family members of the deceased astronaut.

Who is eligible for benefits

The current legislation contains a total of more than 1,700 professions, the workers of which, having the appropriate amount of work experience, can apply for early retirement benefits.

First of all, this is Federal Law No. 400 of 12/28/13 and its chapter. 6 (Articles 30-32), containing an extensive list of “beneficiaries” - from workers in hot shops and hazardous industries to city bus drivers. The length of retirement is also indicated for each category. At the same time, for women, as a rule, the number of years is reduced by 5, compared to the “male” limit.

There are clarifying lists of preferential professions, adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of the USSR, conventionally called “list 1” and “list 2” (adopted by decree No. 10 of 01/26/91). They include particularly difficult and hazardous work, such as pharmaceutical production, work related to mining, chemical and coke-chemical production, the nuclear industry and a number of others.

When determining benefits, the so-called small lists of professions are also used: medical, teaching, driving professions, 19 positions in total. For example, Government Decree No. 781 dated 10/29/02 contains information about teaching and medical professions that qualify for benefits.

This information first of all needs to be studied by future “beneficiaries”.

How to find out the amount of future pension savings in 2020

Let's consider the method of calculating the most popular payment - upon reaching a certain age. It consists of two parts – insurance and savings. And since you can calculate the amount of your old-age pension yourself, you need to prepare in advance certain information about yourself or your elderly relative.

  • The length of work experience in years and months. This value includes not only the actual stay at the place of work, but also sick leave, leaves, including to care for a child or an elderly relative, as well as the period of stay at the labor exchange while employees are looking for employment that matches their experience.
  • The amount of salary and all allowances, and income tax is not minus.
  • The year when a person retires. This is even more important for those who continue to work after reaching retirement age.
  • Individual pension coefficient and its cost.
  • The amount of the fixed payment may vary due to annual indexation.

Previously, the savings system worked, but then a moratorium was introduced on the accrual of this money until 2022. But they are not canceled, but are issued to pensioners as a supplement to the insurance portion. This is a way to smoothly transition to a new accrual mechanism.

Knowing all the listed values, every citizen will understand how the amount of an old-age pension is calculated. To do this, you need to use a formula to find the total annual pension savings, and then divide them by the expected number of months - the expected survival period. For 2020 it is 258, that is, 21 and a half years. Once this period is passed, payments will not change and will remain fixed.

Information on calculating pensions online

The PF portal contains information about the official salary and length of service of employees. You can track the duration of work for any working period, as well as non-insurance periods of time: parental leave, army, periods of incapacity.

Obtaining information about pension accruals through the website is the most convenient way. When registering, a notification will be sent to your email or mobile phone number. After that, on the state website. services you will need to enter personal information and provide passport and SNILS data.

An important parameter when calculating a pension is the number of points earned. You can find out their number in several ways:

  • on the State Services portal;
  • in a branch of the Pension Fund during a personal visit;
  • in the personal account on the Pension Fund website.

When calculating points, you may encounter an incorrect number of points or a short work history. The Pension Fund receives information from employers, so inaccuracies are associated only with deliberate misrepresentation of facts, fraud or erroneous data entry. In these cases, fund employees recommend checking information about the length of service with your boss.

If you need to obtain data for a certain working period, you will need to write a free-form application, send it by mail to your manager or hand it in person. The application must indicate the contacts where the employer should send the information. According to the law, within 3 days the boss must send copies of documentation of work activity with all data on vacations, dismissals, and income certificates. The employer must stamp the copy. There is no need to pay for preparing and submitting papers.

If the company where you worked for a certain period no longer exists, you can contact a higher organization or request documents in the archives. When the necessary papers have been collected, contact the Pension Fund office to verify the data.

You can also send a request to the fund to clarify data on your work activity online. This method will save time and you won’t have to wait long in line.

Find out the pension amount on the PF website

To find information about pension contributions on the Pension Fund website:

  1. Open the official website of the foundation.
  2. Log in to your account. To do this, enter the phone number you specified during registration, SNILS number or email and password.
  3. On the menu .
  4. Fill out an application for data provision.

The received documents can be printed. But if you send data electronically, then this is not necessary. To prevent data from getting lost, it is advisable to keep a copy of the electronic version of the documents and one copy on paper.

Find out the amount of payments at the fund branch

To find out information about old-age pension payments at the institution’s branch:

  • contact the Pension Fund branch with all the necessary documents;
  • fill out the application for data provision.

The data will be prepared in the form of a certificate. It will indicate the duration of the work periods and the points earned.

Calculation of pension data through the state website. services

On the government services website, fill out the calculation form:

  1. Please indicate your gender and age. Those citizens who were born before 1967 cannot choose what to allocate funds to: the insurance part or the savings part. Those born after 1967 can do both. This gives 10 and 6.25 points annually, respectively.
  2. Enter information about your military service. For each year of service, 1.8 points are awarded. This period is added to the total working period.
  3. Indicate the number of children and the duration of parental leave. For children, 1.5 years are added to the length of service. Number of pension points for children:
Amount of childrenNumber of points
11.8 points
23.6 points
3 or more5.4 points each
  1. Enter the deadline for applying for pension payments. The later Russians apply for pension accrual, the more pension points they can accumulate.
  2. Enter information about the expected length of work experience.
  3. Indicate the official amount of income excluding personal income tax.
  4. Click "Calculate".

The exact amount of the pension is not indicated on the portal, but along with data on insurance and savings contributions, an algorithm for calculating the pension will be shown.

Individual pension coefficient (IPC)

This is the number of points given for years worked. The IPK is calculated as follows: the IPKs and IPKn are summed up (the old one, accumulated before 2015, and the new one), then the resulting value is multiplied by K - an increasing factor. The later a person finishes working activity, the greater it is. For those who stopped working immediately upon reaching the required age, it is equal to 1.

How to calculate the amount of pension? Using the formula: IPKn = (CB/HCB)*10, where:

  • CB is the amount of contributions from the employer;
  • HCB is a standard that also needs to be known in advance.

For 2021, HCB = 207,720 rubles, which was determined by multiplying the marginal base (determined annually by the state) by 16%, that is, by 0.16.

Example

There are additional divisions for socially significant periods of life.

Points Life situations
1,8
  • Leave to care for the first child up to 1.5 years;
  • military conscription service;
  • marriage with a military personnel with residence in settlements where there is no employment;
  • living abroad with a spouse in the diplomatic (consular) service;
  • care for a disabled child or people with disabilities of group 1, elderly people over 80 years old.
3,6 Caring for a 2nd child up to 1.5 years old.
5,4 Leave at the birth of the third and subsequent children during the first year and a half.

The monetary equivalent of these points is also determined by the state and increases annually. So from 2020 to 2024 it will increase from 93 to 116.63 rubles.

What is the pension calculation based on since 2015?

Since 2015, the new law of the Russian Federation “On insurance pensions” dated December 28, 2013 No. 400-FZ came into force, which, in comparison with the previously valid law “On labor pensions in the Russian Federation” dated December 17, 2001 No. 173-FZ, introduced some new concepts, affecting the calculation of pensions, and, accordingly, changed the algorithm for calculating it.
In connection with the changes that have occurred, the question of how to calculate the pension of a future pensioner has become even more pressing.

The innovations of the Russian Federation Law dated December 28, 2013 No. 400-FZ were:

  • changing the name of the pension from labor to insurance;
  • increasing the required length of insurance coverage;
  • adjustment of the conditions for including certain periods in the length of service;
  • introduction of new indicators - pension points and their value;
  • changing the components of the calculation formula;
  • adjustment of the procedure for indexation and recalculation of pensions.

The new rules will be fully applicable only to those persons who began their working career in 2015. Pension rights accumulated before 2015 will be taken into account by transforming them to the new rules, and already assigned pensions will be recalculated in a new way, preventing a reduction in the amount compared to what was previously paid.

The new law preserves the rights to:

  • early pension;
  • payment of pensions to pensioners who continue to work.

Read about the features of indexing pensions for working pensioners in 2021 in the material “Indexation of pensions for working pensioners after dismissal .

Magnifying factor

Some employees do not stop working until they reach age 60 or 65 for women and men, respectively. But when this period comes, the recalculation will be based on an increased “premium” indicator. And its size directly depends on how much the pensioner worked.

How is the old-age pension coefficient calculated if you do not immediately contact the Pension Fund?

How many years have passed from retirement age to completion of work? Multipliers

    Dear Igor, for military service a military pension is formed, for which the length of service in a certified position is taken into account. It is not included in the total length of service.

  • How is pension insurance calculated?

    Starting from 2021, requirements for receiving accruals will be proposed, which, according to the plan, will increase until 2026.

    • The age for a woman is 60, and for a man - 65 years, unless there are additional aggravating factors.
    • Work experience - at least 11 years, and then - from fifteen.
    • The individual coefficient starts from 18.6 points, and then from 30.

    If these parameters are not met, then minimum social charges are determined. They can only be received upon reaching 65 and 70 years of age.

    Special cases

    For some employees, payments are accrued not at a certain age, but depending on their years of service. These categories include:

    • teachers and doctors;
    • ballet dancers and opera singers;
    • circus gymnasts.

    These individuals have 25-30 years of professional experience. Along with the adaptation period, the assignment of a pension is also postponed when the required length of service is achieved. In addition, after acquiring the required length of service, employees have the right to continue working.

    How to make payments online

    Due to the fact that over the long life of a pensioner, he most likely worked in many places, received different salaries, and could also have received additional points several times, the formula becomes somewhat more complicated. Only the Pension Fund can take into account all periods of employment. However, you don’t need to go to the fund’s branch; you can go to your personal account on the website www.pfrf.ru, where you can enter the login and password for the government services portal. There is all the data, as well as a built-in calculator.

    Increasing the size of a future pension

    There are several ways to increase the size of your future pension.

    1. Official employment. When officially employed, an employee develops an insurance record and also makes transfers to the Pension Fund. It is important that the salary is “white”, and that the employer makes all contributions to the tax authorities and towards compulsory pension insurance. In this regard, it is extremely important for the employee to study the employment contract, especially the clause indicating the amount of wages.
    2. Receiving bonus odds. If a person has already reached retirement age, he can increase his pension by applying for it later. Accordingly, the later the payment is scheduled, the higher the coefficient value will be applied when calculating it.
    3. Voluntary contributions. Each citizen can simply “buy” points by making voluntary transfers at his own expense to the Pension Fund. The basis for such a transfer is the corresponding agreement, which also specifies the main details of the agreement, including the amounts and frequency of payments.

    Calculation by phases

    There are three main time periods of activity. If a person started working before the 2000s, then the pension savings system was somewhat different, so now you have to make a complex recalculation.

    Before 2002

    Valorization, as well as indexations, are important in the calculations. In connection with them, savings were measured in money, and now they are transferred to points to comply with a unified system. For calculations, you can take the average salary for the period from 2000 to 2001 or any continuous five working years.

    Experience accounting

    The experience coefficient (SC) is used.

    • If a person worked for more than 20 (for women) or 25 years (for men), his SC = 0.55. To this is added 0.01 annually. So, with female labor for thirty years, she will receive 0.55 + 0.1 = 0.65. And so on, but not more than 0.75.
    • If an employee has worked for less than 20/25 years, his SC = 0.55 without bonuses.

    Experience until 1991

    The savings counted on by citizens working before the collapse of the Soviet Union were annually indexed by 1% for each working year. The same applies to the post-Soviet period (up to 2001 inclusive). In 2002, valorization was carried out - a one-time increase of 10%. You need to calculate taking these indicators into account.

    How are wages calculated?

    For this purpose, the coefficient of the KSZ (coefficient of the average monthly salary) is determined. It is calculated by dividing the average salary for a five-year period of a pensioner by the statistical average established in the region. It is different in different years. In this case, as a result, the SSC does not exceed 1.2. The only exception is for citizens living in the Far North; they have up to 1.9.

    Calculation method

    There are two formulas depending on the length of experience.

    • If SC > 0.55. RP (estimated pension) = SK*KSZ*1671 – 450. But not less than 250.
    • If SC < 0.55. RP = (0.55*KSZ*1671 – 450)*(Experience until 2002/25), or divided by 20 for women.

    IPC calculation

    IPC before 2002 = (RP + SV)*indexation coefficient/cost of points, where:

    • RP – estimated pension;
    • SV – amount of valorization;
    • CI – indexation coefficient for the period from 2002 to 2015 is 5.6148;
    • SB – cost of points for 2002 = 64.10.

    Calculation of the pension amount in Russia until 2015 according to the table

    This is the second phase, when the calculation is carried out in points from insurance contributions from the employer, transferred to the Pension Fund. Deduction – 22% of the salary, 16% of the salary is transferred to the point format. You can get them using the formula:

    • SVI:KP:SPB.

    Where for 2021:

    • SVI – the amount of contributions with indexation (the index can be viewed in the table);
    • KP – number of periods (estimated months 228);
    • SPB – the cost of a pension point (price for 1 b = 64.10).
    Year Indexation deflator coefficient
    2014 1,101
    2013 1,083
    2012 1,101
    2011 1,065
    2010 1,088
    2009 1,1427
    2008 1,269
    2007 1,204
    2006 1,16
    2005 1,127
    2004 1,114
    2003 1,177
    2002 1,307

    Recalculations after 2015

    The only difference from the previous period is the cost of one point – 93 rubles. In addition, additional coefficients appeared (conscripted military personnel, maternity leave for up to one and a half years) and the conditions for receiving pension payments changed.

    Minimum Requirements

    It turns out that in order to receive SP, you not only need to have special points in your account, but also fulfill the minimum requirements. There are two of them - according to work experience and the number of points. At the moment there is a transition period, which will end soon. After 2025, all people retiring will be required to have a minimum of 15 years of work experience and a minimum of 30 credits.

    In this case, you will be able to receive financial assistance from the state authorities. In 2021 it amounted to 4983 rubles. But the rules change every year, as does the value of the pension point; this must be taken into account.

    Salary and pension, where is the connection?

    The size of future pension accruals depends entirely on the amount of wages. Russian civil servants have recently introduced this mutually beneficial principle: the higher the salary, the more money you send to the budget - and then it will come back a hundredfold. All this is quite logical, because the income of the population affects the state of the economy.

    For working citizens, employers pay 30% of insurance premiums from salaries. This money should provide free healthcare and decent pensions. In particular, 22% goes to the Russian Pension Fund. But this is only if the income is official. With white salaries, everything is much simpler, therefore, it is better to look for a good job.

    How to understand how much has already been accumulated

    Go to the official website of the Pension Fund of Russia and order an online statement from your personal account:

    This can be done through the State Services portal:

    The result will be sent to an email inbox or opened in a browser:

    Each block can be examined in more detail.

    How to calculate your pension

    Every person who retires can calculate their pension independently, knowing the formulas and parameters for calculating it. It is possible to make an online calculation, and there are also calculators available. If you can’t make the calculation yourself, you have the opportunity to contact the Pension Fund to learn how to calculate or request information about future income.

    General formula

    The formula for calculation will look like this:

    • P = PV + LF + MF, where PV is a fixed share (basic);
    • LF – cumulative fraction;
    • SP – insurance share.

    The procedure for determining the insurance part

    The fixed share is set by the state. Each citizen has his own savings share. Therefore, we need to know how the insurance share is calculated. There is a calculation principle for this:

    • SCh = PK/T, where: SCh – insurance part;
    • PC – pension capital;
    • T – estimated time that compensation will be paid, measured in months

    From this formula we do not know the value of pension capital, which must be calculated in a new way. The capital consists of the values of the conditional pension capital (CPC) and the estimated payment (RP). The old-age pension is calculated using the formula:

    • RP = SK * ZR / ZP * SZP, where: SK is the coefficient for length of service. It is equal to 0.55 (for men with 25 years of experience, women with 20 years of experience). For each year worked beyond the length of service, 0.01 is accrued, although this figure should not be more than 0.75.
    • Salary/salary is the ratio of wages to the average earnings in the country. Its level should not be more than 1.2.
    • SWP - the average salary is calculated by the Pension Fund in the amount of 1,671 rubles.

    After calculating the estimated payment, you can find out the amount of conditional capital:

    • UPC = RP – BC / T, where RP is the estimated compensation, BC is the base part, T is the estimated time of payment, measured in months.

    To calculate the insurance part, we only need to know the value of PC1, which can only be found in the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation (PFR). When you know all the data, you will be able to calculate the insurance share, and ultimately calculate what benefit you can count on when you retire. Every year the state increases pensions. This is affected by indexation and inflation. Indexation is an increase in the amount of payments that is made annually.
