However, due to the fact that quite often there were situations when foreign citizens who received a residence permit simply left Russia and lived outside its borders, the legislative bodies were forced to introduce mandatory notification of residence under a residence permit.
Thus, today, notification of confirmation of residence in the Russian Federation with a residence permit is a mandatory procedure that must be followed by foreign citizens in order to avoid a fine and cancellation of the document.

Professional lawyers do not recommend registering an individual entrepreneur as the only proof of source of income to confirm residence in Russia. To begin with, the 3-NDFL declaration submitted every year must include an income that is at least 12 subsistence minimums. The amount is quite significant, more than 100 thousand rubles.
And also when submitting notifications to the FMS, the emigrant must draw up a report for the past year, which he spent in the status of a residence permit, and it may include 2-3 months of the current year. On the contrary, you must submit a declaration to the tax authorities within a calendar period. And it may happen that emigration service employees ask a foreign citizen about his profit over the past 9-10 months.
When choosing simplified or general taxation, the owner of the individual entrepreneur is required to send a declaration annually by April 30. This date sometimes falls on a weekend, in which case you need to report to the Federal Tax Service on the next working day. That is, the deadline for filing 3-NDFL is May 3. If there is a delay, you will need to pay a fine. Therefore, an emigrant who needs to submit a notice for a residence permit in October must complete all tax procedures before May. And, accordingly, it makes no sense to register an individual entrepreneur.

The reasons for refusal to renew may be the following:
- The citizen had a criminal record.
- The submitted documents contain incorrect information.
- Expulsion from Russia for the past 5 years.
- Obtaining administrative responsibility.
- Negative results of the medical commission - diagnosis of HIV or severe infections.
- Traveling abroad for permanent residence.
If the decision is made, the applicant is notified within three days. When the Federal Migration Service agrees to the extension, the foreigner is given a corresponding document that is valid for 10 days. If the process is delayed, the person can file a complaint with higher authorities.
When renewing a residence permit, the document must contain stamps on pages 9 and 12. Citizens who are deprived of citizenship are re-received the status of residence permit.
