Prosecutor's Office of the Moscow Region Hotline 24/7 Free

The Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation monitors compliance with laws and the Constitution and coordinates most of all control and supervisory activities of the Russian Federation. It is not part of the system of legislative, executive or judicial power, being an independent structure.

As a rule, the prosecutor's office and the court become the last resort to which citizens turn if they have not achieved the desired result. The grounds for appeals are violation of the rights and freedoms of citizens, non-compliance with laws and other regulations.

About the organ

The history of the Moscow Prosecutor's Office dates back to 1782. Officially, the post of provincial prosecutor of the late 18th century was established in 1782 in connection with the publication of Catherine’s law “Institutions for governing the province.”

According to Catherine’s law, prosecutors were supposed to “watch and be vigilant about maintaining everywhere every order determined by law, both in the proceedings and in the administration of the cases themselves, they had to preserve the integrity of the power established in the interests of the Imperial Majesty, and ensure that no one collected prohibited fees from the people.” collected, and had the duty to destroy the evil takings everywhere.”

In admonition to provincial prosecutors, Prosecutor General of Russia A. A. Vyazemsky said: “You will be in fear of slackers, and in patronage of honest people.”

Provincial prosecutors reported to the Prosecutor General a lot of information about a variety of facts of provincial life: about the misconduct of government officials, about the results of recruitment, about the state of trade, about losses, and even about the state of bread and herbs.

They invariably participated in meetings of the provincial government, on the minutes of which they made the obligatory note “read”. Every day they looked through entries in dozens of journals and statements of the provincial government, attended meetings of various committees and commissions, expressing their opinions on their activities.

Assistants to provincial prosecutors - solicitors - served the provincial prosecutor “with advice and in his name, they offered various conclusions,” and considered complaints, despite the positions occupied by the defendants. They gave written opinions on the investigation of criminal cases and conducted “litigation” cases.

Empress Catherine II ordered that “honest and capable” people be recruited to the prosecutor’s office.

The majority of Moscow provincial prosecutors were active and proactive officials, known for their intensity and aggressiveness in suppressing illegal actions. To a large extent, they did not have sufficient education, received a small salary, were loaded with many responsibilities, but were always

How to contact the Moscow prosecutor's office

Citizens periodically contact the authority with statements and complaints. Any person wants his rights to be respected and observed. The prosecutor's office is considering such appeals. Usually, serious violations are within its competence. Therefore, many prefer to contact the authority only if there are compelling reasons.

However, in practice, people are more likely to encounter minor offenses. Believing that it will not be possible to achieve justice, citizens let the situation take its course, without disturbing others with their problems and without contacting the prosecutor’s office. However, not everything can be considered trifles. Thus, it is permissible to file a complaint if the seller violated the rights and weighed down a citizen in a store, or employees of medical organizations demand payment for a free procedure. In all these situations, it is necessary to report what happened. The list is not exhaustive. You can contact the prosecutor's office in other situations where there is a violation of the current legislation.

By the way! If you contact the prosecutor's office, it is not necessary to disclose personal data. To do this, you need to use the helpline. The following number is + 7 495 633 63 47. If you want to contact the supervisory authority in Moscow, you must use other numbers. You can contact a representative of the authorized body by dialing + or +.

When a call comes in, the duty officer transmits the information to the authorized body for further processing. The information is studied in detail, and then proceedings are initiated in the case. At the same time, when making a decision to initiate a case, the prosecutor’s office is based not only on written requests received from citizens. Sometimes an inspection is carried out if the relevant information is published in the media or a call is received on the duty phone.

The free telephone number of the Moscow Prosecutor's Office can be used by all persons who wish to notify of an offense, but do not plan to disclose personal data. Typically, individuals act this way to ensure their own safety. Calls are accepted 24 hours a day. There is always an operator on duty.

Note! If you prepare a written appeal, but do not indicate personal data in it, the prosecutor's office will not consider it. The corresponding norm is dictated by established rules.

What questions can I contact?

Citizens can contact the Prosecutor's Office with any complaints that are within the competence of a law enforcement agency.

You can contact us for the following questions:

  1. Obtaining advice from a legal specialist.
  2. Resolving issues related to housing and communal services if non-compliance with housing legislation by the authorities of the Russian Federation is recorded.
  3. If an act of vandalism was recorded over a cultural monument of history and heritage of the Russian Federation.
  4. If the employer violated the Labor Code of Russia - in case of non-payment or delay of wages, the employer’s refusal to pay compensation for sick leave, if there was an industrial injury, non-payment of maternity leave.
  5. Violation of the rights of Russian citizens if they are participants in shared construction.
  6. When there is a threat to the life and health of a citizen.
  7. The fact of fraud against a specific violator.
  8. Violation of the country's environmental safety, littering and vandalism of natural reserves.
  9. Violations of the procedure for conducting the unified state exam.
  10. If the rights of patients were violated in medical institutions.

It is important to remember that the hotline should not be abused; every call received on the line is recorded. If a caller begins to threaten a prosecutor's office employee or provide false information, it will not be difficult to determine his identity. Then the attacker can be held accountable according to legal norms of law and order.

The hotline will help to understand legal issues if a citizen needs to make a decision about the need to contact a certain government agency. Perhaps the specialist on duty will tell you which institution is best to contact. If it turns out to be the prosecutor’s office, it will help with the correct algorithm of actions.

Response time and specialist competence

If a citizen wants to get advice, a specialist can answer him within a couple of minutes. However, if the problem requires consideration, then a period of 30 days is allocated for this. This applies to both telephone and electronic requests.

Hotline specialists have sufficient competence to provide a comprehensive answer to a citizen’s question. However, if a complaint is filed in connection with a violation of any rights, the specialist accepts and records it, but does not resolve it.
