Pay twice a month
You cannot pay wages once a month. No exceptions, reservations or conditions.
You can pay twice a month, three times, even every day. The main thing is at least every six months. This procedure is fixed in Art. 136 of the Labor Code.
In addition, there is a time frame: wages for a month worked are paid within 15 calendar days. This means that the salary for September must be paid no later than October 15, and the first part of the remuneration for October must be paid before October 30 inclusive. Otherwise it will be less often than every half month.
The dates may be different: for example, 10 and 25 or 5 and 20. The employer chooses the specific numbers himself; it is important to write them down in the employment contract.
We deliberately do not use the word “advance” here: it does not appear in the Labor Code. In everyday speech, an advance means a salary for the part of the month worked.
If the payment date falls on a holiday or weekend, the salary is paid the day before.
